A new transport service, is operating in Panama Viejo to make the tour through the old colonial city a more enjoyable experience. It consists of a tram with 44 comfortable seats, a silent engine and two open carriages so that passengers can get on and off more easily and tour the historical sites at their own leisure.
The vehicle has recordings in English and Spanish giving information about the sites and follows a route which runs from the Visitor’s Center to the San Francisco, La Merced convents and the ruins of the Cathedral Tower. Tourists can buy the service at the ticket box and get on and off of the transport without additional costs.
Panama Viejo Board Director, Julieta Arango, said that the transport will make the experience more enjoyable for pensioners, groups and cruise ship tourists.
